Medical doctor, Jacobin thinker, political philosopher, a highly honorable, intellectually gifted individual. Was a dear friend of Schiller and Kant.

Esemplare particolarmente fresco, marginoso (in barbe) e ben conservato. Si tratta di una delle opere più interessanti del Wolff. che viene considerata tappa decisiva nella storia della psicologia al punto che Georges Gusdorf (Introduction aux sciences humaines, Paris, 1960) la qualifica come "premier traité de psychologie digne de ce nom et publié sous ce nom".

La rivista, che era stata anticipata nel 1901 da Ortofrenia (ne uscirono alcuni numeri), riprendera' le pubblicazioni nel 1913 con la nuova intestazione di Infanzia anormale che durera' fino al 1968, per proseguire, poi, con la denominazione di Neuropsichiatria infantile. Oltre a Ferreri collaborarono a questa prestigiosa testata Sante De Sanctis, George Rouma, Zaccaria Treves, Saffiotti ecc. Hardcover, bound in contemporary half cloth and marbled boards, spine gilt, small faded patch at top, old armorial bookplate to first paste-down. Foxed, some pages more evidently, half-title and title heavily, but plates are rather very good and clean. A very wide margined copy in good condition. ~ First edition. Gilbert Breschet (1784-1845). His great and methodical capacity for work was particularly applied to the study of human anatomy and comparative anatomy. Very rare. Not in the market for decades.

Prima edizione di di quest'autore, che ci racconta le ricerche scientifico-alpinistiche da lui effettuate in compagnia dei suoi famosi colleghi scienziati Agassiz, Studer ed Escher nei territori dell'Oberland bernese, dell'Oberwallis, ecc. L'autore (1811-1882), grande naturalista svizzero, d'origine tedesca, fu per circa vent'anni collaboratore e compagno di viaggio di Agassiz (1807-1873, il celebre padre della glaciologia e della moderna geologia alpina); Escher e Studer, inoltre, vengono considerati tra i fondatori della moderna geologia alpina. Interessante sequenza dal 1910 al 1918 (manca il 1914) della prima rivista di psicologia fondata in Italia (nel 1905) da Cesare Ferrari, che nel 1902 aveva gia' istituito presso il manicomio di Imola un laboratorio di psicologia anche su influenza degli studi compiuti a Parigi presso Binet. Raccolta di interessantissimi articoli dei migliori rappresentanti della psicologia e psichiatria italiana e straniera (Binet, Kraepelin, Kiesow ecc.) nell'annata 1917 compare anche il diario di guerra di B. Mussolini.
