In good general condition, rather fine interiors. ~ First edition. Hermann Hugo Rudolf Schwartze (1837-1910). One of the founders of modern otology. His master 2-volume "Handbuch der Ohrenheilkunde" was co-edited with Emil Berthold. Very rare.

Hardcover, bound in contemporary quarter calf and paper-covered boards rubbed in places, worn spine though in tact, with gilt tooled raised bands and gilt lettering mostly chafed away, slight foxing to endpapers. Ample margined tall copy, untrimmed, undoctored, entirely in the original state. In overall very good internal condition and with presentable, albeit fair binding. ~ First French edition. Very rare in original state. "Psychologia Empirica" was first published in Germany, in 1732. In 1756 a second French edition was published (J. Schreuder, Amsterdam).
