- Encre sur papier, Douarnenez s.d (1927), 21 X 27cm, sur papier fin filigrané, encollé sur une feuille plus épaisse.. - Authentic original drawing in black ink, signed "Max". This work was most likely executed in 1927 during a stay in Douarnenez at the house of his friend, the painter Jean Colle; also present was the latter's son Pierre Colle, who would become Max Jacob's dealer and close friend, before becoming executor of his will and overall heir. Two tiny tears to half a centimeter of the upper margin, otherwise very well preserved. Provenance : the personal collection of Philippe Laignel-Lavastine, a close friend of Max Jacob. [FRENCH VERSION FOLLOWS] Authentique dessin original, réalisé à l'encre, en noir, signé "Max". Cette oeuvre a été vraisemblablement réalisée durant l'été 1927 au cours d'un séjour à Douarnenez chez son ami le peintre Jean Colle, en compagnie du fils de ce dernier, Pierre Colle, qui deviendra le marchand et un ami très proche de Max Jacob, avant d'être son exécuteur testamentaire et légataire universel. Deux infimes déchirures affectant la marge supérieure sur un demi-centimètre, sinon bel état de conservation. Provenance : collection particulière de Philippe Laignel-Lavastine, proche ami de Max Jacob.

Vertikale Mittelfalte geglättet, verso mit einigen feinen Restaurierungen des Papiers. Akribisch fein ausgeführte Zeichnung. Die Tatsache, daß sie verso gerötelt ist, bedeutet, daß es sich um die Vorzeichnung für eine Graphik handelt. Die Vorlage dafür ist eine Zeichnung von Paolo Caliari, gen. ?Veronese? (1528 Verona - Venedig 1588), die er um 1570 für das Refektorium von S. Sebastiano als Gemälde ausführte, das sich heute in der Brera, Mailand befindet.
