Late 1800's cookbook/trade catalogue putting forth the favorable qualities of the "vapor stove" made by The Standard Lighting Co. Vapor stoves burned multiple fuels stove gasoline kerosene or distillate with the advantage of quicker cooking times and less heat then coal or wood. The disadvantage of these stoves were the tendency to explode into giant fireballs of ignited gasoline vapor that could and would incinerate the entire house. 20 pages of illustrations accompanied by a cookbook teeming with recipes. Krunitz was born in Berlin and studied at Gottingen Halle and Frankfurt where he took his doctorate in medicine in 1749 and initially practiced. A part of New York restaurant history almost entirely forgotten Chin Lee restaurant was one of the theater districts nightclub-restuaurants known for its mass quantities of cheap chop suey liquor dim lights and dance music. The menus feature "Party Cocktails" and both Chinese style "Chop Sooy" Chow Mein Chinese specialty dishes and American style food - part diner part nightclub. Both menus are stamped on the rear: "Our prices are ceiling prices according to OPA regulations based on our highest prices April 4- 10 1943. - Menus for that period at our office." "Eat Drink and be Merry" edition has inscription on rear: "A tip to the waiters - Kindly don't ask for tips it's just not being done. You'll find you will get more otherwise ask the union."
