Der Techniker, Beamte und Soldat Vitus Ugazy beschäftigte sich in seiner Freizeit mit der Konstruktion landwirtschaftlicher Nutzmaschinen, so entwickelte er 1814 eine Sämaschine, die er später verbesserte und in verschiedenen Ausführungen auf den Markt brachte. Seine Erfindung basierte auf mehrjährigen Untersuchungen zur Keimkraft unterschiedlich tief gesetzter Samen. 1818 erhielt Ugazy ein Privilegium auf acht Jahre. Es umfasste neben der sog. großen Sämaschine eine kleine, einfach zu handhabende Pflugsämaschine für Kleinlandwirte sowie eine Stupfsämaschine zum Anbau größerer Samensorten wie Mais oder Bohnen. - Umschlag angestaubt, an den Rändern stellenweise braunfleckig.
