188923931Chicago: R. S. Peale & Co. Near Fine. 1889. Second Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. Light soil and rubbing but pretty nice for such a fragile book. This is a sample book intended to be used by a local farmer's wife who goes from neighbor to neighbor signing up folks to purchase the book. It contains a selection of pages from throughout the actual book with a section at the end giving space for folks to sign up to buy the book. Much scarcer than the actual White House Cook Book as only a relatively small number were printed for this special purpose.
