At the final 1887 meetings of the stockholders and directors recorded in this minute book the Company appeared to be facing a foreclosure suit by the Connecticut State Treasurer. Withal still about very good. A rare pamphlet promoting a major Mexican railroad company with plans to build a line across Mexico to the Pacific Ocean. The by- laws are statutes of the railroad are given its capitalization is discussed and the officers listed. Mariano Riva Palacio was the President of the railroad company and Edmundo Stephenson whose name appears at the end of this report is listed as the Vice President. Mariano Riva Palacio was a prominent Mexican statesman with a distinguished record of political and economic reform. He served as governor of the State of Mexico several times and though an ardent republican defended the Emperor Maximilian at Queretero. One other copy located: University of Wyoming.Dating is based on a timetable on the penultimate page for service to and from San Francisco and Los Angeles.The Yosemite Valley Railroad 1907–1945 was a short-line railroad in California mostly following the Merced River from Merced to Yosemite National Park carrying both passengers and freight. Despite the railroad’s name it did not serve the Yosemite Valley but ended at the park’s boundary due to the fact that construction of railroads is prohibited in National Parks. Passengers would disembark for the park at El Portal and take a stage coach and later in 1913 a motor coach to Yosemite Valley Merced, California:: [The Railroad],. unknown

Green card stock with original painting and manuscript lettering on front wrapper. 5 more tempera and india ink paintings and border decorations. Wear to spine and slight wear to corners. Slight paint transfer from images to opposite pages and first painting has some smudging in top corner. very good A dummy brochure consisting of 6 paintings: one train one CPR logo and 4 decorative borders that would later include text or photo illustrations. Possibly intended to contain information on Western Canada due to the pine tree and mountain imagery. Front cover illustration is signed by Glidden Second image signed WC27. The only original manuscript template for a CPR brochure we have ever encountered. The front illustration is beautifully done and with internal illustrations having an art deco feel. We are unsure if the finished product was ever published. 1927 Canadian Pacific Railway paperback
