Segno di doppia piega all’angolo basso di sinistra, per il resto in ottime condizioni. Proveniente dall’archivio del futurista B.G. Sanzin. Bello scatto della sala, nel formato grande, particolarmente raro. La sala quarta alla Mostra della Rivoluzione fascista «dedicata all’Agricoltura, ai Trasporti marittimi ed aerei, ai Trasporti terrestri, alla Navigazione interna, ecc., è stata ideata e realizzata dal pittore Gerardo Dottori, che ha cercato di inquadrare i dati statistici in una rappresentazione sintetica decorativa [...]. Per ciò che riguarda il concetto architettonico della Sala, l’artista si è preoccupato, date le limitate dimensioni, di non invaderla troppo di volumi, che ha cercato di ottenere, più che con rilievi, con giochi di chiaroscuro e aerando l’ambiente mediante un sereno ricorrere di colori sulle pareti» (dalla scheda relativa nel catalogo della mostra, che riproduce il presente scatto a pagina 250). Magnifique album comprenant 37 tirages photographiques érotiques originaux, contrecollés sur des feuilles de papier cartonné noir, eux-même montés sur onglet. De format variable, en noir et blanc ou en couleurs, la plupart des tirages sont datés et signés par Jean-Pierre Muhlstein. L'album se termine avec deux portraits photographiques, non signés, de l'artiste, et avec sept montages de pages de magazines reproduisant ses images. En toute première page de l'album, la signature du photographe, à l'encre, sur papier vélin blanc, à grains, est elle-aussi contrecollée. Ce album est en réalité une reliure signée par HONEGGER, à la Bradel, en plein maroquin saumon (poli ou exfolié). Très intéressant montage sur les deux plats, en creux, avec des jarretelles à soie de dentelle (grises sur le premier plat, blanches sur le quatrième). Dos lisse. Provenance prestigieuse : ex-libris de Gérard Nordmann. Livraison a domicile (La Poste) ou en Mondial Relay sur simple demande.

Black lacquered boards with beautiful raised decorations carved and painted on bone on the front board: a woman wearing a kimono riding a dragon and a child waving a flag the rear board with decorations stamped in orange and gold; the spine in five compartments gilt decorations and rules on the spine; all edges gilt. Binding is sewn cloth. White endpapers and pastedowns. Most photographs with a caption in the corner. Photographs measure 19 cm x 25.5 cm. The photographs depict landscapes of Nagasaki a statue of Buddha temples street life in Japan Kioto Tokyo women playing instruments clothing and porcelain shops and so much more. A stunning album of daily life in Japan at the end of the nineteenth century. The front board nearly detached from the spine but holding to the binding on the front gutter cloth. A few photographs may have had their red color touched up but it is difficult to tell. n.p. hardcover
1890TK0363Probably ca. 1890s. i.e. certainly before 1905. 1890. Folio. 14 x 15.5 inches. 48 original mounted professional photographs each a full-page image. Modern half red morocco cloth. A piece of the original cloth cover with the title in German as shown is mounted within the volume. Fine. 48 fine vintage photographs 23 of which are signed by the photograph 19 by the Zangaki Brothers; 4 by Antoine Beoto. The images are taken in the southern Egyptian Luxor region including images of the Valley of the Kings at Luxor temple the Nile Karnak temple and Thebes. / The first photograph shows the Sphynx and in front are a couple presumedly a husband & wife perhaps German or Swiss-German obviously tourists. This is their memory album of a visit to Luxor in southern Egypt the place of the Valley of the Kings. The photographs some of which are titled are chiefly titled in French. Even though 23 of the photographs are signed it is clear that the whole album is made up of images from these two photographers meaning that 47 of the images should be either by the Zangaki Brothers or Antoine Beoto's studio. The only unique image should be the first one showing the two travelers and their guides. Probably ca. 1890s. [i.e., certainly before 1905]. hardcover

Remnants of glue, paper slightly rubbed on verso, but not seriously. Gustave Courbet met Etienne Carjat in 1859 in Germany and the two men struck up a very strong friendship. "My dear Carjat, I care for you, as you as you know, you are my confidant in love, my biographer, you are my friend." (Letter from Courbet, February 1863). We have been unable to find another copy of this photograph in public collections. [FRENCH VERSION FOLLOWS] Rare photographie originale sur papier albuminé, au format carte de visite, contrecollée sur carton. Résidus de colle et papier un peu frotté au dos, sans gravité. Gustave Courbet fait la connaissance d'Etienne Carjat en 1859 en Allemagne et les deux hommes lieront une amitié très forte. "Mon cher Carjat, je t'aime comme tu sais, tu es mon confident d'amour, tu es mon biographe, tu es mon ami" (Lettre de Courbet, février 1863) Nous n'avons pu trouver aucun exemplaire de cette photographie dans les collection publiques.

Comme à l'habitude, les portraits d'Hérambault (Pas-de-Calais) et du Marquis de Verclos (Vaucluse) sont manquants, mais la photo du Baron de Ravinel (Vosges) a été rajoutée. Thomas Annan was commissioned by the Glasgow Water Works Corporation to document the project of redirecting the waters from Loch Katrine to flow some thirty-five miles into the city of Glasgow - a feat of engineering that took almost twenty years. Annan published his first major work 'The Views of the Line of Loch Katrine Water Works' in 1859 and continued to photograph the evolution of the aqueduct and construction works until completion in 1877. 190217504(190 x de 286 à 296 mm), contrecollées sur du carton légendé, montrant l'exploit de l'aviateur Louis Plantier qui a réussi à poser son appareil le 5 février 1914 sur les bas-ports du Rhône, en plein centre ville de Lyon. Sur la première photographie, Plantier descend de l'appareil ; la deuxième, avec le pont de la Guillotière au second plan et l'Hôtel-Dieu en arrière plan, montre une foule déjà dense, vite accourue, autour du biplan ; enfin la troisième est légendée «Plantier repart pour Bron» ; c'est la plus belle car l'avion se trouve en perspective sous l'arche du pont, le parapet est noir de monde et un wagon de tramway semble lui-même assister au spectacle, on y voit très distinctement le pilote assis entre les deux ailes, prêt à redécoller aux commandes de son frêle appareil. Les trois photographies sont en tirage d'époque.

Collection of 11 snapshots from the early 1920s likely taken by a British soldier stationed in the Middle East. It is difficult to pinpoint exactly where these photographs were taken but presumably in Mesopotamia present day Iraq. Great Britain was actively involved in Mesopotamia from 1914-1932. Prior to the First World War a large portion of the Middle East was in the hands of the Ottoman Empire. However when the Ottomans sided with Germany in 1914 Great Britain sent forces to Mesopotamia to protect the Anglo-Persian oil fields. The British army initially suffered a major defeat but eventually gained the upper hand and captured Baghdad in 1917. In 1920 after the Ottoman Empire was partitioned the United Kingdom formally established control in the region under a mandate of the League of Nations. However the Iraqi people resented this idea and revolted. In 1922 Great Britain and Iraq then signed the Anglo-Iraqi Treaty in which Iraq was given the right for self-government while Great Britain stayed in control of the country's foreign policy. This would last until Iraq's independence in 1932.The present snapshots were taken in the early days of British control in the region and depict the atmosphere at the time. They show the daily life of locals including women collecting water from the river men standing guard and the hustle and bustle in the streets. Also included are various group photos of British soldiers and locals.The photographs show some traces of wear around the corners and edges but are overall in good condition. unknown

Collection of ten beautiful press photographs of the oil industry in Abadan Iran which was home to the largest oil refinery in the world at the time these photographs were taken. They show various parts of the industry such as the oil refinery oil tankers pipelines and fire department. The photographs were take by various French and German news agencies.With the stamps of various French and German news agencies on the back of each photograph. Some of the photographs are slightly creased. Otherwise in good condition. unknown
